About Coach Reg
## Discipline. *Faith.* Legacy.
My name is Reginald Fields, but most people call me Coach Reg. I'm a collegiate basketball coach, a U.S. Navy veteran, and the author of seven books. I founded Kingdom Coaches Network to help faith-driven leaders, athletes, and coaches discover who God created them to be and step boldly into their calling, through coaching, speaking at churches, schools, and sports programs, and through my writing, from leadership books like *NEXT PLAY* to my novels *The Compass* and *The Weight of the Whistle*.

About Coach Reg
## My Story
My spiritual foundation began with my grandmother, whose prayers and faith shaped me early. As a teenager I fell in love with basketball and dreamed of playing in college, but a physical setback ended that dream. That disappointment drove me deeper into the faith she had planted in me, and it taught me to trust God's direction even when my plans changed.
I went on to serve as a Hospital Corpsman in the United States Navy, where my faith matured through discipline and service. After the military I worked for major corporations, including Fortune 100 companies, and several startups. I gained valuable leadership experience, but I always felt an emptiness. I was working for money, not purpose.
A season of unexpected job loss became a turning point. It gave me time to pray, reflect, and finish the writing God had placed on my heart: songs, poems, letters, and stories I had tucked away in boxes and on old thumb drives for years. Revisiting them became a healing process, and with the help of modern writing tools I was finally able to complete them.
Coaching is where my calling came alive. The locker room became my ministry, mentoring young men became my mission, and winning a national championship in 2024–25 confirmed what faith, standards, and culture can build together.
Today I'm working toward certification in chaplaincy, deepening my theological foundation while continuing to serve. My goal is to use that training to expand Kingdom Coaches Network, strengthen discipleship for athletes and leaders, and keep writing resources that help people grow in Christ.
